Tanzania visa / Zanzibar visa requirements

Tanzania visa /Zanzibar visa and a valid passport are required for entry to Tanzania. Passport, at least 6 months validity with
at least one blank page for visa Tanzania and entry stamp.
Tanzania visa can be obtained upon arrival on the Airport or online.
The same procedure with Zanzibar visa, on arrival at the Zanzibar International Airport. Immigration offices are equipped with cameras and laser fingerprint checks. The visa costs US$ 50 per person (adults and children), for US citizens US$ 100. Immigration is open day and night. There can be long queues, that why we suggest preparing a visa online –check here.
To get Tanzania visa / Zanzibar visa you can be asked to show supporting documents such as a round trip plane ticket and proof of sufficient funds to support getting the visa. If you do not have these documents, your visa may not be issued. On arrival, visas are subject to lengthy processing times, so it is advisable to obtain your visa in advance of travel.
Payment for the Tanzania visa /Zanzibar visa could be done in cash or by credit/debit card*. Please remember – Immigrations officers accept only US$ 50 notes, new notes only; US$ notes older then form 2006 are not valid in Tanzania/Zanzibar! No other currencies are accepted, only US$!
Sometimes the counter for the credit card payments is closed. And every other day, US$ cash is not accepted, only credit cards… Rather take both, credit card and US$ cash, just in case.
