If you have limited time and budget, and you want to taste a real safari – a 2-day safari Mikumi is the best solution, and it can be easily organized as a short trip during your holidays in Zanzibar.
You can start your Safari Mikumi from Zanzibar or Dar Es Salaam. People starting a safari from Zanzibar must buy a Zanzibar Package -100$ pp.
The package Zanzibar Package includes- transfer to Zanzibar, ferry tickets in economy class, additional accommodation, and dinner in Dar Es Salaam.
Mikumi National Park- a beautiful landscape of baobabs, black deciduous trees, and grassy plains. With the almost year-round observation of wildlife. This is the perfect safari destination for those who don’t have much time. Here you’ll find buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, and endangered wild dogs.
The Maasai are a colorful tribe from Tanzania whose nomadic traditional lifestyle has endured for centuries. They breed cattle and their breeders are extremely qualified.
Accommodation Camp Bastian/ Tan Swiss Lodge, full board provides – breakfasts, dinners, and lunch in the Camp or packed lunches for day trips+ drinking water during safaris.

Morning around 8.00 am, pick up from your Hotel / Airport or another agreed point in Dar es Salaam and start your way to Mikumi.
*Zanzibar packages- On Zanzibar pick up from hotel (around 5 am, depends on the hotel location) and transfer to the ferry terminal for the first ferry at 7.00 from Zanzibar. Arriving Dar Es Salaam at 8.30, from where our driver will pick you up.
The way to Mikumi takes approximately 5-6 hours. You arrive in Mikumi for lunch at the Camp. After a short break in the Camp, a trip to a Maasai village, where you can learn about the customs and traditions of the Maasai. The Maasai are a colorful tribe from Tanzania whose nomadic traditional lifestyle has endured for centuries. They breed cattle and their breeders are extremely qualified. On this day we provide- water and snacks during the transfer from Dar to Mikumi, lunch, dinner.
8-hour drive in Mikumi Park – Mikumi NP is one of the largest parks in Tanzania and is a good place to watch predators. There is also a rich variety of bird species, as well as many giraffes, buffalos, and elephants, and near the waterholes also lions, leopards, and hippos. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo forests with gently sloping hills.
After the safari, around 5 pm, return to Dar.

Return by ferry to Zanzibar. Ferry at 7.00 / 9.00 / 12.00 / 16.00
On this day, we can organize the Dar Es Salaam city tour (for an additional charge 50$ per group) and then return to Zanzibar afternoon. On Zanzibar our driver will be waiting at the terminal/airport to take you to the hotel.
