If you do not like crowds and you want to feel truly wild nature, then Tanzania Southern Circuit is the best choice. The parks in this region are vast, untouched, remote, and abound with a spectacular variety of wildlife. In the south, you can visit Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere Park), Ruaha National Park, Mikumi National Park, and Udzungwa Mountains National Park. The Big Five is not complete here – you won’t meet a rhinoceros, but there are many other animals, such as roan antelope, sable antelope, black rhinoceros, and cheetah, that are easy to see. Also here you can find the world’s densest population of the last African wild dogs.
The main town and starting point for the safari in this area is Dar Es Salaam. There is an international and domestic airport here, from which you can fly to the parks.
